Day 12

I did the 6:30p with Renee, she is a fantastic teacher. I love her dialogue, it is very encouraging yet thorough in body form and function (push right hip down, left hip up, two hips in one line) (know that you are in control and whatever you are feeling in your body is temporary and you are healing .... yes healing). I think it was probably my best class yet. I did every posture, including the forward bending. Today's breakthrough was being able to have lifted legs on locust pose!

It was my first class without Candy, so I had to really meditate and focus to make it through. It just helps having a friend, buddy, partner being there to inspire you, but like they say in the beginning of class, "this is 90 minutes for yourself". I did set out the occasional set (those damn forward bends, darn twingy back), but would push myself to stillness and meditation. It helped that I had to sit right by the door (cause I was a wee bit late) and right out the door was that wall with the word "Concentration" written real big and pretty. I think they put it there on purpose so when you looked out the door (obviously losing focus) you see the reminder to get back into your practice. I had a great talk after class with a fellow workstudy about the benefits and joys of class, and it put an absolute perfect smiling seal on the day. Feelin' groovy. :)
